OWNERSHIP of a building in Thailand separate from its land. A building can be a separate immovable property under Thai law (separate from the land it stands on) and the owner of the land is not necessarily the owner of the building. In most cases ownership of land and house lies with the same Thai person. In case of a foreigner buying real estate in Thailand the land and buildings is best to be separated.
